what we leave out.
sulfates (SLS / SLES)
aggressive detergents that create dramatic foam but strip natural oils. the foam isn't the cleaning. the surfactant chemistry is. ours cleans without the stripping.
silicones
they coat hair and skin to create an illusion of smoothness. when they wash off, you're back to where you started — or worse. we use plant-derived conditioning instead.
parabens
disrupt hormones, causes skin irritation, and has uncertain long-term safety concerns.
phthalates
plasticisers sometimes found in synthetic fragrances. our fragrance formulations don't use them.
artificial colors
no functional benefit to your skin or hair. we don't add them. (the clay shampoo's green colour comes from the formulation itself.)
drying alcohols
dehydrate skin and hair over time. we avoid them in favour of humectants like glycerin and panthenol.

Shea Butter
